Lux Gambart, an eclectic painter born in Mauritius in 1974, was raised in France. With a degree in interior design and art history, she honed her skills over two decades in the luxury industry in Paris. Returning to the beloved country of Mauritian artists Vaco Baissac and Malcolm de Chazal in 2017, Lux Gambart began creating customized artworks to meet the new demands and unique needs of Mauritius. Subsequently, she transitioned to showcasing her paintings in exhibitions to reach a wider audience.
By presenting her paintings in galleries, Lux sought to connect with a wider audience. Each of her creations is an inherent invitation to contemplation, reflecting a fusion of imagination and décor inspired by her professional background.
The common thread connecting each canvas evokes a dematerialized and mineralized nature. From this fusion emerge organic and graphic forms, immersing us in an introspective universe.
Enveloped in the tension of facing a blank canvas, each piece emerges from an instinctive journey through arranging and reshaping disparate elements originating from primal chaos triggered by the interplay of different mediums. Intrigued by her complexity as a visual artist, Lux Gambart remains open to unexpected twists and turns, embracing them as enigmatic revelations. As a result, a sequence of lines, branching paths, intersections, vanishings, and transformations unfolds, drawing the observer into a realm of perpetual divergence, imbued with poetic contours.
